Race report

Clonard Road Club (CRC) hosted its annual Ras Naomh Finian, cycling race on Saturday 5th March
CRC held 4 separate races on the day, A1/A2, A3, A4, including increasing popular  ladies race.
The sign-on took place at Mother Hubbard, Moyvalley with first race underway at 11a.m.
The Mens race took them from Mother Hubbards, via the old N4 road, to Kilbeggan, turning around and back home to the finish line in Clonard Village, a total 73km.
A King of the Hill prize was awarded, for the first fellow racer over Ginneybawn
The ladies race followed a similar route from Mother Hubbards, turning in Rochfordbridge and finishing in Clonard Village, 44km
Junior members of the club, Conor Leech and Ciaran Leech opened the cycling season in fantastic
form claiming first and second place in the unplaced Juniors , with John Connell, claiming 6th in
the men’s A4 race.
Last years winner, Sean Mckenna (Aquablue) went on to retain his title in superb fashion
in the men’s A1/A2 race, with Michelle O’Halloran (Lakeside Wheelers) taking the Ladies Prize.
