Three Counties League

The Three Counties League

It has been agreed to introduce an Interclub League in 2018 which will be organised by Clonard Road Club, Donadea Wheelers and Team905 Cycling Club.

The format of the Interclub league will be as follows:

  • 2 separate Interclub leagues will be run during 2018 with 2 separate races to be run on each race night
    • A League & “A Race”
    • B League & “B Race”

Locations & Race Dates

 

  • Initially, there will be 7 Interclub League Races.
  • Clonard Road Club will host 4 of the 7 races with Donadea (2), Team905 (1)
  • Provisional race dates are as follows:
  • Thursday 26th April – TT organised by CRC (Kinnegad/Milltownpass)
  • Thursday 3rd May – Road Race (RR) organised by Donadea
  • Thursday 24th May – RR organised by CRC
  • Thursday 21st June – RR organised by Team905
  • Thursday 19th July – RR organised by CRC
  • Thursday 2nd August – RR organised by Donadea
  • Thursday 23rd August – RR organised by CRC
  • Racing will start at 7.15pm sharp (TT to start at 7pm)
  • Marshalling Rota to be prepared across all clubs
  • Prizes for each race arranged by interclub committee
  • Guest riders from clubs other than the organising clubs will be permitted to race but won’t receive points for placing in races.
  • As a rule, riders who start the season in a particular league must remain in the league for the season. Rider movements between the A League and the B League will be at the discretion of the interclub committee.

The A Race

  • Who participates in the A race will be at the discretion of the Interclub race committee.
  • The A Race will consist of a maximum of 3 Groups (Limit, Semi Scratch & Scratch)
  • Limit will be let off first followed by the Semi Scratch & Scratch Groups with a fixed handicap being provided to the Limit and Semi Scratch Group on each night (handicap will be dependent on group size and rider capability).
  • Points awarded from 12 – 3 for riders finishing in 1st to 10th place respectively. 2 points are awarded to all race marshals on the night.
  • Prizes awarded for first 6 riders across the finish line.
  • The rider with highest score across any 4 races will be crowned A League Champion.
  • There will be an option to crown individual Club champions.

The B Race

  • Who participates in the B race will be at the discretion of the Interclub race committee.
  • The B Race will consist of a maximum 4 Groups (Limit, Semi Limit, Semi Scratch & Scratch)
  • Limit, Semi Limit, Semi Scratch will be provided with a fixed handicap on each night (handicaps will be dependent on group size and rider capability).
  • Points awarded from 12 – 3 for riders finishing in 1st to 10th place respectively. 2 points are awarded to all race marshals on the night.

Eligibility

  1. You must be a current member of a club and have paid your club fees before the deadline for this year’s league.
  2. You must either hold a Cycling Ireland Limited Competition or Full Competition licence
  3. A sign on fee of €5 per rider will apply for all races.
  4. U16, U14 and younger riders are limited to participating in the Limit groups within the B League. Additionally, we the clubs would prefer if U16 or younger riders were accompanied to races by at least one parent.
